Shiatsu Massage

A Japanese healing art that uses deep acupressure and some light stretching.  According to Oriental medicine good health and strong healing depend on the smooth flow of energy (oxygen, blood flow etc.) to all parts of the body.  When the free flow of energy is interrupted by excess tension or lack of tone, then discomfort, fatigue, disease or emotional distress can occur.  This style of massage aims to balance the flow of energy through the body.

Hot Stone Massage

A soothing Hot Stone Massage is the perfect way to warm up in Tofino after playing in the surf (or in the rain)!
Enjoy this luxurious massage that uses smooth, heated basalt stones and heated oil to massage and melt away muscle tension. *Refreshing cool stones are often incorporated into this treatment when areas of particularly high tension are met.  This allows for improved circulation to such areas and greater relief of muscle pain.
A very relaxning massage indeed!


Slow Deep Tissue Release

Great for those who are seeking a more clinical, area-specific focus.  Especially great for those who have chronic holding patterns in the body's posture, often resulting from either repetitive mostions, old injuries or even emotional reasons.
This treatment begins with Joint Release techniques to explore your ranges of motion and to warm the muscles  surrounding the joints.
Then, using lotion (instead of oil) the practitioner works deeply on the connective tissue to release primary tension patterns built up in the body. The muscles will be given space to expand and relax more fully and posture will improve quite naturally.  This style of massage is designed to help the body return to its structurally correct alignment with a lasting effect! 
Because the focus of this work is on the deeper connective tissue, the speed of the work is very slow and patient but well worth the wait and very relaxing for those who need it!

Reflexology Massage

A method of applying pressure to the feet to stimulate reflexes affecting the entire body.  By relieving tension in specific points on the feet, the body is assisted in returning to a balanced state of well being.
